Amy Morris is a director, writer, theatre-maker & creative + performing arts facilitator based in Newcastle, NSW.
Amy is passionate about creating experimental new works that utilise improvisation and silliness to create connections and memorable experiences, while placing a strong focus on facilitating a positive and collaborative creative process. Amy is interested in redefining the relationship between "audience" and "performer", instead facilitating a co-creation of experience together in a live performance space.
Amy graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Arts (Distinction) in Creative and Performing Arts and English in 2017. She is currently studying a Graduate Diploma Arts and Cultural Management at Deakin University. Amy has over 9 years experience facilitating performing arts workshops for young people and currently facilitates workshops at Tantrum Youth Arts. She has a passion for collaboratively devised work, sketch comedy, youth arts, and taking silliness seriously. Recent credits include Mess League (theatre-maker) and Big Revue Energy (director). She was also recently awarded "Best Direction" for the short play What's About To Happen On The Dance Floor at Micro Theatre Festival. Amy also recently underwent professional development with Branch Nebula, as a part of Tantrum Youth Art's The Shake Up.
